Lake Hartwell State Park - Lake Hartwell

Lake Hartwell State Park is a South Carolina State park located at Lake Hartwell. The park offers numerous outdoor recreation activities for the whole family. Activities include, camping, rental cabins, boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking, playgrounds, hiking trails, nature watching, and swimming. Park admission fees are $2 for adults, $1.25 for seniors and children 15 & younger are admitted free of charge. Lake Hartwell State Park features 115 paved RV and tent campsites. For the more adventurous there are also 13 walk-in tent campsites available. Standard campsite amenities include showers, restrooms, water and electrical hook ups and a dump station. Camp rates are $16 - $21 per nite for standard sites and $11 - $14 per nite for walk-in tent sites. Reservations are recommended. Call (866) 345-7275 for campsite reservations.

The park also has 2 camper cabins available for rent. These cabins are available year round and feature bunk beds a queen size bed, electrical and A/C. The cabins feature no running water and all cooking must be done outdoors. A fire ring and grill are provided for cooking. Guests must also provide their own linens. Cabin campers have access to the campground showers and restrooms. No pets are allowed at the cabins. Cabin rental rates are $26 - $47. Call (866) 345-7275 for cabin reservations.

For boaters and fisherman Lake Hartwell State Park has 2 boat ramps and courtesy docks that provide easy access to the lake. For hikers and bird watchers the park has a 3/4 mile nature trail. A picnic shelter is available for large group gatherings. Picnic shelter rates are $26 - $39 per day. Call (866) 345-7275 for picnic shelter reservations. There is also a picnic area in the day use are of the park. The picnic area features picnic tables, grills and a restroom. For the kids the park has 2 playgrounds.

Lake Hartwell provides excellent fishing opportunities for a wide variety of fish species. Popular fish species caught at the lake include striper, bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish.
